Letters from Elsewhere

A hybrid work combining film, photography, and handwritten correspondence. Chen collected letters from immigrants describing places they can no longer return to, then filmed landscapes that approximate those descriptions. The result is a meditation on memory, displacement, and the impossibility of going home.
